MCN News: Charley Boorman launches his latest big trip

Motorcycle adventurer Charley Boorman is planning a new round-the-world journey for TV -- and he wants MCN readers to join him on the first leg. By Any Means will take Boorman to Sydney, Australia using transport "appropriate to each country" on the way. To join Boorman -- and be part of the TV show to be aired on BBC 2 in the autumn -- all you need to do is turn up at Coventry Transport Museum, Millennium Place, Hales Street, CV11PN, on April 15. Organisers have yet to confirm the exact meeting time so keep checking MCN for updates. Charley's last trip, Long Way Down, will be aired on National Geographic in July, including two-and-a-half hours of previously unseen footage. BMW K1300GT-EE

This was the bike i had for the day for a test ride.Did 170 miles on it averaging 49mph in a range of conditions whilst windy seeing speeds of up to 130mph and i still averaged 50.4mpg. Overall very nice -that coming from someone who has had an FJ1200 for the last 17years Video Rating: 0 / 5

2012: the year of ABR

Christmas may be upon us, but here at ABR, we're already looking forward to the New Year. New trips, ride outs and adventure plans are all on the cards – as well as test riding some brand-new adventure machines – and there are already ABR rallies planned for Scotland, Wales, the South Coast, the Midlands and Cumbria among others. We've a feeling 2012's going to be a blinder for adventuring by bike.

We want to make 2012 the year of The Big Trip, and by that we mean your Big Trip. Whether it's a 12-month RTW or venturing out on a new greenlane, we want everyone to make 2012 the year their two-wheeled riding aspirations come true – and we want to hear all about it with pictures, stories and write ups, online and in the magazine.

ABR's enjoyed tremendous success this year, and it's thanks to the enthusiasm and passion of our readers and the support you show one another, as well as the mag. Keep on posting, keep on sharing, keep in touch. But most importantly, keep on riding and keep the dream alive.

Circuit de CheneviÃ¨res on a BMW K1300R (with Akrapovic Sound)

My last trackday for this year in Chenevières (France) with Cornu Master School. Yes, my bike has a limiter an can scratch some metal on the track. Sometimes it is a little shaky due to the longer camera arm I tried out. By the way, the bike in front of me was a BMW S1000RR, faster then me but doesn't sound that good :-) Mein letzter Rennstreckenbesuch in diesem Jahr (am 10./11. September 2011) war in Chenevières (Frankreich) mit der Cornu Master School. Mein Motorrad hat einen Begrenzer (man kann es hören) und kann mit Metall am Boden kratzen. Manchmal ist das Bild etwas wackelig, weil ich einen längeren Arm für die Kamera ausprobiert habe. Übrigens, das Motorrad vor mir ist eine BMW S1000RR. Schneller als ich, aber tönt nicht ganz so gut ;-) Video Rating: 5 / 5

Super Tenere 2010 - Australian Test

For years we've been trying to get Mick, a 30 year veteran of road riding, to come and join us on our adventures. He's always been reluctant, but this weekend we got hold of a Yamaha Super Tenere and in the first time in years, he's going to ride dirt.
